In 1939t the war begins because German troops invade Poland. Great Britain and France threatened Germany if they enter Poland they will declare war. When Germany enters Poland Great britan and France declare war.

The bombing of Pearl Harbor

The bombing of Pearl Harbor happened in 1941. The Japanese wanted a good supplie island to bomb so they decided to bomb Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor had a lot of ships,aircraft carriers, and airplanes. America was lucky in two ways. One thing was that our aircraft aircraft carriers were out at sea. Another thing was that they did not come back again for a second round.

Executive Order #9066

This right after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. After that people started thinking the Japanese Americans were responsible for the bombing or that some were. So priesident Roosovelt passed the Executive order#9066 that put all Japanese Americans in internment camps. Japanese had to leave their house their friends and go to these internment camps which were not the cleanest and brightest.

1942 Us started the Manhattan project

The Manhatten project was the creating of the atomic bomb. Albert Einstein was a very famous scientist at that time. He told the president he could make the atomic bomb with help. This was one technology that helped us win the war.

1942 Battle of Midway and concept of island hopping

The battle of midway was a major turning point in the war against Japan. When the Japanese destroyed many of are ships. They now hoped to destroy all of the American ships at midway. They wanted to attack midway it was a small island close to Hawaii. American navy knew they would attack, but they did not know we're it would be. American code breakers broke Japanese codes and told were the Japanese were going to hit next.

Battle of Slalingrad in January 1943

The battle of Stalingrad was in Russia. Germany wanted to take over Russia so they decided to go to slaingrad. Stalingrad was a very industrial place. That's why Germany wanted to go there. They wanted to destroy most of Russia's supplies to help them win the war. But, Germany wasn't ready for the cold winters. Russia was prepared so they won the battle.

Operation Torch

Operation torch was when American and Great Britain went to North Africa. They wanted to liberte these city's Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia,and Libya. They went through Italy and we're trying to get to Germany. At the same time Russia, and America were coming from South and the East.

June,1944- D-day

The battle of Normandy lasted from June 1944 to August 1944, resulted in the Allied liberation of France,from Nazi Germany’s control.The battle began on June 6, 1944, also known as D-Day. 156,000 American, British and Canadian militaries landed on five beaches of Normandy. By late August 1944, all of northern France had been liberated. It was the biggest sea invasions in history of sea invasions

August 6 and August 9,1945- Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the city's that America drop the atomic bomb on. We finished the atomic bomb so we wanted to use it on Japan, because Japan would not surrender. We did not want to loose more soldiers so we dropped the bomb. The Enola gray flew over Hiroshima and Nagasaki and drop the bomb. The explosion was equal to a. Medium Hurricane.

August 14,1945- Victory in Japan Day Allies win the war.

Victory in Japan was when America defeated Japan with the atomic bomb. Japan surrendered on August 14. This was called V-J day-- for "Victory in Japan." WWII was finally over.
