Scientific Revolution
Alisha H. 5th period
What was the change?
The scientific revolution is the birth of modern science. It identified a period in europe roughly between the second half of the sixteenth century and almost the whole seventh century.
Who were the people associated with the change ?
Nicolaus Copernicus
Copernicus used early trigonometry to show that the observations of the movements of the planets in the sky are most easily explained by assuming that the Earth and other planets orbited around the Sun.
Galileo
He supported the Copernican model of a heliocentric universe a solar system in which the planets revolved around the Sun, not the Earth
Isaac Newton
Isaac Newton was one of the world’s great scientists because he took his ideas, and the ideas of earlier scientists, and combined them into a unified picture of how the universe works.
How did the change impact society at the time ?
How is that change evident in today's modern society ?
The scientific method uses observation and experimentation to explain theories on the workings of the universe. This process removed blind adherence to tradition from science, and allowed scientists to logically find answers through the use of reason
