Congratulations to “Vivace” (the brand new women’s competition show choir for FHS) for earning the People’s Choice Award & 4th Place in the HS Women’s Division at the Albertville Diamond Classic last night. These talented young ladies performed beautifully & were the crowd favorite of the day at their first-ever competition!

Middle School Career Tech Tours

Florence Middle School students came and toured our FHS Career Tech department. They were able to tour all of our areas of career tech and ask questions about each. This will be very helpful in choosing their courses for high school.

2018-2019 Scheduling Information!

During REACH for the next few weeks, students are receiving information about graduation requirements and course offerings that will assist them in planning their schedule for the 2018-2019 school year. Below is a little of the information that was shared this week.

As a reminder, On Tuesday, February 13, the guidance department will have a Dual Enrollment information night. This is an opportunity for you to learn about what Dual Enrollment is, and whether you and your student might be interested!

UNA Peer Mentorship Program


The UNA Peer Mentorship Program, sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences, is an opportunity for high school students to be paired with a current COAS Student Ambassador Mentor. The students will have an opportunity to shadow current COAS Ambassadors, and also learn about COAS majors/minors and various career paths.


Applicants must be current 11th or 12th grade students with a desire to explore college options and career opportunities. Students who are selected must be able to provide their own reliable transportation to the UNA campus for various activities. Applicants will be reviewed by a committee of student ambassadors and scored on a rubric. A maximum of 30 students will be selected for the program.


Complete the application form and email it to lkois@una.edu. The form may be found on the website listed below, or you may pick up a printed copy in the FHS Guidance Office.

*Note: The deadline to register for the February test is Friday, January 12th. (Late registration is January 13-19 with a late fee.)

Parking Info

All students parking on the FHS campus must buy a parking pass. It is very important for all students to have a parking pass and to park in their assigned spaces. Students without parking passes or parking in other students' parking spaces may have their vehicles towed at any time. Students must complete the parking permit form, have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and have all past school fees paid. The cost of the parking pass is $15.00.

Every time you shop at Publix and swipe your card, a portion of your spending goes directly to the school. See the main office to get yours today!

Do you drink coke products?

You may drop your Coca Cola product bottle lids and/or coke rewards codes printed on the inside of each case of coca cola canned products to the main office. We enter the codes online and get a check from Coca-Cola.
