HFRCS Newsletter SY 2022-2023
December 13, 2022 - Vol.2 Issue 16
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Tomorrow our faculty will be making an Advent Retreat and there will be no school tomorrow, Wednesday, December 14. Please pray for our dedicated faculty as they prepare their hearts for Christmas by sharing in a retreat led by Sister Pat McCormack, IHM, entitled, “Walk the Advent Highway.”
This Friday, December 16, our youngest learners will be sharing their Christmas joy as they present their Christmas Pageants for their families and friends. Please see this newsletter for specific times for each performance. Next Tuesday and Wednesday, December 20 and 21, our school Christmas Pageant, with students from grades K-8, will take place in church at 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM respectively. Students are to wear their full winter uniform for each performance. Please come and hear the Christmas story beautifully portrayed in word and song. There’s no better way to get into the Christmas spirit!
As the holidays get closer, we ask that you be particularly mindful of your child’s health before sending them to school. Illness of all forms; flu, viruses and colds are on the rise. Please review the Parent/Guardian Health Check that is part of our Family Handbook. It is featured in today’s Handbook Highlights section of this newsletter. Being proactive in monitoring your child’s health goes a long way in preventing the spread of illness to others.
Next week, we will be in school Monday through Thursday, full days. Transportation is available from all sending districts to and from school on Thursday, December 22, however, there will be no after school CARES on that day. Our Christmas break extends to Monday, January 2 and we return to welcome the New Year on Tuesday, January 3.
As we progress to the fourth Sunday of Advent, may everyone seek opportunities to prepare their hearts and quiet their minds for the coming of the Infant King!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty

Remember to go to Mass this weekend!

Handbook Highlights
Family Handbook, Parent/Guardian Health Check (page 7)
Partnership – Catholic elementary schools are inherently a partnership between the parents and the school. At Holy Family Regional Catholic School, we value this greatly. We request parents agree to the importance of monitoring your child’s health daily. Most importantly, this means that parents need to keep their children home if they are experiencing symptoms such as fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea. With parental cooperation in this matter, we will be able to keep our school open and safe.
As a parent/guardian, I accept this responsibility to check the health of my child/children in the morning of every school day of the school year. I will check for symptoms – such as fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea and will not send my child/children if experiencing the above signs.
