St Jude School
October 18, 2019
A message from Fr.Joe
Dear Parents,
Greetings! I am so excited to know that your child is enrolled at our school, and I commend you for it! St Jude School has established through the years a fine reputation for academic excellence. Your child deserves the best, and we try to provide only the best. We are blessed for having an energetic and young faculty, a very competent, insightful, and proactive Principal, a committed staff, a fine PTO, and supportive parents. Thank you for your support. I include myself in this blessing because I spent 30 years of my priestly life in Catholic education, primarily in a high school setting, and five of them at Elyria Catholic. I could go on introducing myself by “boasting” of my accomplishments; the only thing I wish to boast of is the faith in Jesus Christ that our school promotes and stands for.
Parents, if you are Catholic, I plead with you: set an example for your child of a parent who loves Jesus and the Church by participating in the mass at the Saturday vigil liturgy at 4:30 or on Sunday at 9:00 or 11:00. Parents, you are the primary educators of your child. He or she learns from you the values that you model in your life. Let faith be one of these values. Therefore, I encourage you to participate in the sacraments if, for whichever reason, you have neglected to do it. You are in my prayers, and may the Mother of God inspire you to be a faithful Christian.

Weekly Update from Mrs. Hibler
Dear Parents,
Cold and flu season is just around the corner. If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home from school. We are disinfecting desks nightly and working hard to keep our school sanitary. Also, I am feeling compelled to remind our parents to keep an eye on their children's social media accounts. Access to the world wide web is a curse and benefit to our students. I worry that this is an enormous amount of responsibility for our children. Their words and actions have implications long after they press the send button.
Looking forward to seeing all of you on Sunday at the Family Mass at 11:00 am. Enjoy the weekend.
Enjoy the weekend!
Godspeed,
Mrs. Hibler

Request for Recycled Materials
We currently have a STREAM class called RECYCLE THE RUNWAY. In this class, students use recycled materials to up-cycle them to create an outfit for a model. We are asking for donations of materials for this class. We want to collect a large variety of items. Some items that we are considering are shower curtains, towels, fabric, old clothing, buttons, safety pins, thread, bottle caps, tissue boxes, string, shoelaces, ribbon, etc. While this is not a complete list, just some suggestions; we are excited to see what is collected!
Please make sure all items are clean so that we can use them for our student models. We are just beginning to work with our student models and would like donated items within the next few weeks. All donations should be sent to room 4B, Mrs. Holly Arra.
