Mountain View High School Announcments

We are excited about our return to in-person learning. Students will be returning next week beginning on October 26, 2020. Please make sure you check what group you are in (A or B). Your parent/guardian must complete the Mandatory In-Person Acknowledgement. This must be one before you return to our building. Information on how the complete the acknowledgent on parent portal is found in previous newsletters. If you have questions, please contact us.

Picture Make up and Retake Days

For thosee students that did not have their picture taken on either August 27th or August 31st for portraits and student IDs, Lifetouch will be here on Monday, October 26th and Tuesday, October 27th. You can order pictures on mylifetouch.com with the Picture Day ID: EVTKD2KTW.


For students that had their pictures taken, potrait proofs, potraits and student IDs will be deliviered when we return to school.


If you want to retake your picture, simply return your original purchased package on October 26th (Group A Students) or October 27th (Group B Students).

DECA

DECA is collecting canned foods for the Larimer county food bank. The canned food drive will start on Wednesday the 21st and go until October 30th. There will be boxes out front of the school labeled for Canned Food drop off.

Volunteer virtual or in person for Make a Difference Day (week)

This national day/week of service takes place October 19-24 and is meant to connect the community to nonprofits through volunteer projects. Volunteer virtually or in person as part of United Way of Larimer County's 22nd annual event and join the largest week of volunteer service in Northern Colorado: NoCoVolunteers.org

Guitar and Piano Player Auditions

Return of School Materials

This Friday will be the end of semester classes. If you have school property (eg. books, cameras, art supplies and consumer family science supplies, etc.) and will not be taking the class the second quarter, you will be required to return this materials upon return to school next week.


Please bring the materials to the front office. You can hand these to either Ms. Hass or Ms. Bair thru their windows. We will provide sticky notes for you to clearly put your first and last name on for each item that you are returning.


If you have questions about what needs to be returned, please contact your teacher.

The MVHS yearbook is forging ahead to create lasting memories for our students and families in this strange school year. We are adjusting dates and still hashing things out, but we wanted to let the community know the date senior pictures will be due: Wednesday, November 11, 2020.


Please book photographers or let them know about this date. More detailed info will follow soon.

Athletics, Activities and Clubs

Athletic Eligibilty

Students must be enrolled in at least 3 of 4 classes to be considered "full time" and eligible to compete in athletics. Out of those classes a student may not be failing more than one to be academically eligible to play on a weekly basis. Weekly grade checks happen on Monday mornings. As the quarter approaches, please remember this is a semester transcripted grade, so talk to your teachers if you are concerned about your grades. School comes first!

Parent Teacher Conferences

Like everything else, Parent Teacher Conferences will look a little different this year.


Parent Teacher Conference will be held by phone or google meets by signing up for bookable appointments on:


  • Thursday, November 12th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm
  • Thursday, December 3rd from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.


Your student's teacher will be sharing the calendar link to book appointments. Watch for this in teachers weekly newsletters.

Walter Scott Jr. College of Engineering

The Daniels Scholarship Program

Daniels Scholars demonstrate exceptional character, leadership, and a commitment to serving their communities. Bill Daniels would also want his scholars to be proud Americans who value our free enterprise system and are prepared to give the world their very best shot. The Daniels Scholarship Program provides a four-year, annually renewable college scholarship that is unique to each student and varies depending on their Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and their choice of school and degree program. The scholarship pays up to $25,000 per year toward the student’s unmet need, after applying their EFC, other scholarships, and financial aid. Thanksgiving Turkeys

Is your family in need of a little extra help around the holidays?

Every year the Foodbank can donate up to 200 turkeys to MVHS for families in need. If you are interested in picking up a turkey and have not received a Google Form in your student's email please contact Ms. Dennis at lauren.dennis@thompsonschools.org and a form will be sent to your email.


Request deadline is October 22nd and needs will be met on a first come first serve basis up to 200 turkeys. No income requirements asked. Limit 1 turkey per family. Pickup times have not yet been established, but more info to come soon.

- COVID-19 screening questionnaire must be filled out at class check in.

- Registration capacity is set at 8 per class.

- In class, we promote healthy hygiene practices.

- Regular disinfection of frequently touched surfaces between uses.

- Promote social distancing with individual work spaces.

- Supplies are individualized or sanitized between uses.
