School Hours and after School Activities
If students do stay after school they need to be under the supervision of an instructor, coach, or other approved adult. Students not following these parameters will be directed to leave.
Also, please note that we do have athletic events coming up and the doors to those events will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the first contest that evening. Please plan accordingly for entrance to our athletic contests.
We appreciate your support as we must have appropriate supervision for the safety and security of all

Sophomores visit to ACATEC
All sophomores will visit ACATEC (VoTech) next week Wednesday, December 8th. Students will be split into sessions based on their last name. Students with last names A-L will leave at 9:15 a.m. returning at 11:30 a.m., and will take second lunch. Students with last names M-Z will take first lunch and then leave at 11:40 a.m., returning at 2:00 p.m. This trip is a great way for students to learn about career opportunities related to these programs, as well as direct high school credit and possible college credits they can earn!
Due to the federal and CDC mask mandate on transportation, and ACATEC's updated visitor policy, students must wear a mask throughout the entirety of the visit. Due to these updates, you may opt your student out of attending the trip by completing this form, due Friday, December 3rd.

Seniors Only!
Senior Photos
Senior photos should be emailed to yearbook@waylandunion.org. Please share only ONE photo to be used in the yearbook. Photos need to be in portrait orientation. The clothing choice needs to follow the school dress code. A simple head and shoulder shot looks best in the yearbook.
Please crop photos before submitting. We create square boxes for the portraits to accommodate for portrait orientations. If we need to crop your photo, we cannot guarantee how it will look in the final product.
Photos due are by Friday, December 3, 2021.
We request that the pictures look professional (i.e. no “Selfies”). If there are financial issues preventing a student from having a senior picture taken, please let us know because we can arrange for a yearbook photographer to take some nice pictures.
For questions please contact yearbook@waylandunion.org

Turkey Trot
4th Annual 2021 Thanksgiving Day 5K Turkey Trot Update:
Thankful for another year for this event and all who participated. We had close to 100 show up in person to walk / run the 5k course on Thanksgiving morning.
Not only did we have 2 trailers pretty full of food donations, we raised $2,382.50 in monetary donations. To put things in perspective, in 2020 we maybe had a 1/2 of 1 trailer of food and raised $1885 in monetary donations.
My heart is full. Could not have done it without my family, amazing friends and tribe of volunteers. Our partnership with Hand 2 Hand and your donations will make a difference in our district! Because of your support, students will know that they are loved, valued, and cared for
Thank you so much to all who made an impact,
My hope is to keep this tradition going in years to come!
Blessings,
Aneke vanBaal
