New Bubbler at PCS

Thanks to the very generous girls of Troop 645699, Petersham Center School has a new bubbler in the cafeteria. It is also used to refill reusable water bottles and even keeps track of how many plastic water bottles students are keeping out of the landfill. Thanks ladies for improving your school! It is much appreciated by all!!!

Safety for all at PCS

As Principal of PCS, my number one concern is the safety of our staff and students on a daily basis. I work closely with Chief Cooley, Mr. Burke, the F,M, Kuzmeskus bus company, Mrs. Degnan and Mrs. Warburton, and our staff to constantly refine safety protocols that we follow at Petersham Center School.

On September 8th, our Director of Buildings and Grounds, Jay Burke, ran our first Fire Drill of the year. On September 27th, we worked with the bus company to review bus safety procedures during our annual Bus Evacuation Drill. All students in grades K-6 participated. On Tuesday, October 17th, Trooper Carmichael and Chief Cooley worked with ALL staff on Lock Down Training. This training will be followed up with some Lock Down drills at PCS; the first one being on Monday, October 23rd around 10:30 a.m. All students will be informed prior by their grade level teacher.

In the 2016-2017 school year, the Petersham Playground Committee was formed. The Committee established the following mission: "The Petersham Playground Project is a community initiative to revitalize and re-imagine the outdoor recreation areas at our Center School . . . for everyone in town to enjoy.".

Petersham Playground Committee's 1st Fundraiser

On Saturday, September 30th, the Petersham Playground Committee held our first fundraiser. It was a huge success with 136 people attending. Community members were served pancakes, bacon or sausage, juice, and coffee. Over 33 unique local items were also up for Silent Auction. Thanks to all supporters, and our generous donors of food and goods, we were able to raise over $3,370!!

Petersham Playground Committee's Current Fundraiser

Through October 23rd, the Petersham Playground Committee is conducting the "Fun Pasta Fundraiser". All K-6 students received fundraising packets. Orders are accepted either on-line in a student's name or from their fundraising packets.

Please support our future Petersham playground!
