Flood Buckets - Thank You
This project compliments one of the stories shared by Scott Chesney on Wednesday. He shared, "When I met Muhammad Ali not only did Ali give me his autograph, but I watched him with fierce tenacity write a sentence that took him seven minutes due to the debilitation of Parkinson’s Disease. The sentence Ali wrote was, Service to others is the rent we pay for our space here on Earth."

Halloween Parties @ LAF
The Halloween candy and decorations were out in early September, so here is some LAF Halloween information. In the next couple of weeks, the class parents will be reaching out for volunteers to contribute to each homeroom's class party.
Our parade is at 1:50pm in the back of the building. The class parties will vary depending upon the teacher's schedule.
Class Parties/Food Events
All parents and students will be informed of any classroom parties or events where food is being served. Our policy for bringing food into the classroom is as follows:
The homeroom teachers will reach out to the Class Parents at least two weeks before the classroom party and inform them of any classroom allergies and date of the party.
Forty-eight hours before the party, room parents will share the party menu with the parents and teacher via email.
All items for the party should be bought from a store. Homemade treats are not allowed.
When sharing the item and ingredient information via email, a picture of the item or link to the company website should be provided.
Students are welcome to bring in their own snack as long as the snack is permitted into the classroom environment (i.e., peanut free classroom, etc.).
Costume Guidelines
- Students can come to LAF dressed in their costumes on Halloween.
- We encourage all accessories to be left at home due to the fact that many of these items are often lost or behind at school.
- Costumes cannot promote the use of drugs, alcohol or weapons of any kind.
No pretend “prop” weapons such as water pistols, knives or swords.
Costumes may not be offensive or inappropriate in any way.
Students choosing to wear costumes must be able to sit in their desk without distracting others and participate fully in all class activities.
If in doubt, keep it home.
