Thank you to all the Veteran's who have risked your life for our freedom!! We really appreciate it!
This week our class read stories about how bugs and started our unit on rules.
We learned the new vocabulary words: rules, cooperate, guard, prank and responsible. We learned the new sight word "to" and the letter Ii.
We continued our unit on Shapes in math! The kids LOVE this unit!
We had a visitor, Miss Mary, that came to talk to us about bees! The kids were able to use their schema from our bug unit last week to help understand the topic. They LOVED seeing real bees wax and learning about the life cycle of a bee. Thank you Miss Mary, we really appreciated your visit!

I am continuing to practice some letter naming with some children. Any practice at home is a big help to growth in the classroom. Many students have begun reading many more words as we've been studying letter sounds.
I am so proud of all the children and how hard they work. Keep up the hard work and thank you for all you do!
No school Monday! Thank a veteran!

So many reading logs are coming in and the children are telling me they are reading to family members! YAH! Keep up the hard work!
Remember with the cold weather coming, we still go outside for a 20 minute recess after lunch. Hats, mittens and coats will help keep the children warm as they get that needed fresh air. If you are in need of any winter clothing please reach out to me. We have so many donations given to the school or resources we can pull from. I would be happy to help you.
Scholastic book orders were ordered Friday. They should be in by the end of next week!
