Getting to Class on September 8th
In-Person Learners
- Kindergartners and 1st Graders (weather permitting) will be meeting your teachers on our field behind the school. If kinder or 1st grade students ride the bus to school, they will be taken to the field to join their class upon arrival. Kindergarten & 1st grade teachers will be anxiously awaiting your arrival with welcome signs with their names on them. Once everyone arrives, children will walk into school with their teachers. In the event of rain, students will enter the building and be escorted to their classrooms with the help of district volunteers.
- Second through fifth graders will enter the building and with the help of district volunteers, they will be escorted to their classrooms where their teachers anxiously await their arrival. Parents are welcome to walk your children to the door of the school.
Remote Learners
Remote teachers will be hosting a virtual Meet the Teacher event on September 8th just like we did in August. This will give families and teachers the opportunity to connect. You will sign up for individual meetings with your child's new teacher.

September 8th
8:30am
Cafeteria, Arrival and Dismissal, Specials and Recess
Students will be sitting 2 to 3 per table in assigned seats in the cafeteria. All students will be sitting the same direction and will not be facing each other. Students will only enter through one door and will exit through a different door. Students will wash their hands before entering the cafeteria. Students will wear masks to enter the cafeteria and while leaving the cafeteria.
Please help prepare your children by having them practice opening up all of their lunch items on their own! If staff does not need to assist your students with this at lunchtime, this will help reduce the spread of germs. Thank you!
Arrival and Dismissal
We have designed dismissal to keep children in their classroom cohorts as much as possible. Students will wear masks for arrival and dismissal.
Specials
Students will go to specials on an ABCB schedule. We are maintaining classroom cohorts for specials. Art- PE-Music-PE and then this pattern repeats.
Art - Students will carry their own supplies to art and will not be using community supplies.
Music - Students will be socially distanced during music.
PE - Students will social distance in PE and will have class outside as much as possible.
