A Message from our Principal...
Dear Jefferson Families,
As I write to you today, snowflakes are falling outside my window. No surprise for the middle of January! By the end of today, we’ll have completed seven days of second semester learning! While students are back in the swing of remote learning, we’re making plans to bring students back into the building. I think I speak for all of D50 staff; we are getting very excited to have students back in our buildings! It has been a rough time for everyone, but the days are getting longer, a Covid19 vaccine is starting to make an appearance, and all of us have learned so much from this experience. In fact, our students are showing a lot of growth in the most challenging of school settings - proving that we can do just about anything. We are truly a learning organization and along with our hope and excitement to return to school as we know it, we are also going to utilize the best of what we’ve learned in quarantine schooling. The district and your Jefferson staff will be putting out information in the coming weeks regarding how we plan to safely return to the building. Meanwhile, we will continue to work as hard as we can to ensure that your child is meeting the essential learning targets for their grade level. We ask that students remain focused, turn on their cameras, and participate as much as they are able.
Please keep in touch with us. If you have any questions or concerns, call or write to us as soon as possible. And, if possible, have your child read aloud to you, a sibling, or a pet! “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” ~ Dr. Seuss
Happy January,
Dr. Judy Floeter

Meet Some of Jefferson's Educational Support Personnel!
Mrs. Pam
I know when I have made an impression on a student is when I see them outside of school and they will come over and say hi and spend a few minutes talking to me and asking me how I am doing. That really makes my day! I have 4 grandchildren, which 3 of them go to Harvard schools. I am looking forward to being back at school and seeing the students once again.
Ms. Patty
I go by Ms. Patty and I work at Jefferson Elementary School as an ESP with some awesome students and teachers! I work in small groups helping students achieve their goals with math or reading. In my spare time, I like to enjoy it with my family by going on walks, playing in the park or making some popcorn to watch some movies.
