Meet The Counselor
About Me
My name is Mary Fuller and I grew up in Godley, Texas. I am married and we have two amazing daughters who attend Grandview Elementary School. I have a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas-Arlington and I have a Masters Degree from Texas A&M University in Educational Psychology, with a certification in school counseling. I have been working in Education with students from 4th grade to 8th grade for 10 years. Before joining Grandview Junior High, I worked as a 7th Grade Math Teacher for Alvarado Junior High for the past seven years. I was honored to work as the Math Department Head and received Alvarado ISD's Secondary Teacher of the Year for the year 2020-2021.
My Philosophy
My favorite quote regarding my philosophy for counseling is "the purpose of life is a life of purpose." My Philosophy is that everybody has a purpose. I believe through counseling, students can discover their purpose and how to effectively deal with feelings. My main focus is to advocate for every child I serve and to integrate an effective college and career program. I will work to ensure every child understands "The purpose of life is a life of purpose." My goal will be for every child to have a safe place to talk about their struggles and feelings, and I will guide them into discovering their own ways to comfortably manage their emotions.
