We want to thank those of you who attended our Wednesday Family Meeting online. We appreciate your candid feedback and acknowledge that this has been a challenging and traumatic event for our community. We are committed to continuing to hear your feedback and to working with you to improve school systems so that all students can thrive.
If you were unable to attend, but are interested in the meeting, here are the Slides that were presented as part of the presentation. In addition, please see the upcoming meetings:

We will be scheduling parent-teacher conferences to take place online this year. You will want to have your student's report card close by or you will want to log in to ParentVue to find your student's teachers.
Conferences will take place on:
November 22 and November 23 from 8:30 am 8:20 pm.
- If you need language interpretation for conferences or help signing up for conferences, please call the school office at (503) 916-5600.
- You may also send a text in any language to (971) 413-8705. Include your child's name with your message.
To schedule your preferred times for parent-teacher conferences,
1. Go to https://www.myconferencetime.com/rwh
2. Click on the name of your child’s teacher.
3. Select the desired date/time for your conference by clicking on “Sign Up.”
4. Submit the requested information. If you have several children attending our school, click on “Register for Multiple Conferences” and follow the prompts to schedule your children for several conferences.
After you schedule a conference online, the date and time are reserved for you. You must enter your email address correctly to receive the meeting link and you will receive email confirmation of your conference.
If you have a change of plans, please be sure to cancel your sessions, so that other families may make use of the time. If you would prefer to phone in to the conference you may text the number above and receive a phone link.

RHMS SUN, CCI, PTA with MHS Varsity Girls Basketball - Outdoor Grounds Service Day

The McDaniel HS varsity girls basketball team has reached out to help us with a RHMS grounds clean/up service day as a team building and community service project. The school community is invited to join and bolster their efforts by tending to the grounds, garden, and recess spaces. Children must be supervised by an adult.

Multnomah County Guidance for Gatherings and Events:
Please stay home if you are: sick or have any symptoms of illness, are waiting for COVID-19 test results, or have been around someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days. We ask all guests to be fully vaccinated. It is safest for adults and children who are not vaccinated to stay home. Even if the event is outside, everyone should wear masks if it’s crowded. Create space for guests to be at least six feet apart. Limit the size of the gathering to make sure six feet of space between people is possible. Bathrooms and hand washing stations may not be available.

Thinking about Social Media
A number of families have expressed appreciation for better understanding how social media is amplifying conflicts at school. Common Sense Media suggests to families of middle school students to:
- Tell your kids to think before they post. Remind them that everything can be seen by a vast, invisible audience (otherwise known as friends-of-friends-of-friends). Each family will have different rules, but, for middle school kids, it's a good idea for parents to have access to what their kids are doing online, at least at first, to be sure that what's being posted is appropriate. Parents can help keep kids from doing something they'll regret later
- Kindness counts. Lots of sites have anonymous applications such as "bathroom walls" or "honesty boxes" that allow users to tell their friends what they think of them. Rule of thumb: If your kids wouldn't say it to someone's face, they shouldn't post it.
November is Indigenous Heritage Month
This is a good opportunity to be reminded and acknowledge that every school building, court, field, stadium, office, local field trip and learning space we’ve utilized during the many years of our learning journey has taken place on Indigenous land. As such, we honor the tribal people whose way of life, traditions and culture was taken from them.
