SMCISD Campuses participated in various events and performances, all week long, dedicated to honoring Veterans. San Marcos CISD would like to extend our gratitude to every Veteran for the sacrifices they made. Putting our country first deserves so much more appreciation than we could ever offer, words are simply not enough. Happy Veterans Day!

College ready one AVID strategy at a time
On Tuesday, November 9, the Travis Texans celebrated College and Career Awareness Week beginning November 8-11, 2021. AVID routines and strategies were utilized throughout classrooms and in interactive stations.

Superintendent Parent Leadership
San Marcos CISD Superintendent Dr. Michael Cardona, along with district staff, hosted the inaugural Superintendent Parent Leadership meeting on Thursday, November 11. The group consists of parents from each SMCISD school and will meet several times this year to allow for parent input on district initiatives.
Kiss the Competition GOODNIGHT
Congratulations to Goodnight and Miller Theatre Arts Programs for placing 1st at the Tiny Texas Junior High One-Act Play festival! The following students earned an award.

Best actor means that over 100 actors that competed, Nayson was in the top 2! Only 14 actors received All Star Cast or Honorable mention out of over 100 and we had 4 of the 14.
Pumpkin Pie Season
During reverse inclusion time with some of their peers, ACL students in Ms. Greenstreet's Bowie Elementary classroom made No-Bake Pumpkin pies just in time for the holiday season. Students were able to work on the skills of reading and following a recipe to create sweet desserts.
