ES Educational Foundation

October Board Update

Note to the Board

Dear Board Members,

I hope that this newsletter can serve as a wrap up of what is currently happening with the foundation as well as a look ahead at what is to come. This Friday is our Alumni Tiger Tailgate in the High School Commons from 4:30pm-7:00pm. Please try to attend and wear your educational foundation shirt to greet the alums and go to the Homecoming Game.

Please let me know if you plan to be there!

Having the board's support with securing sponsorships and silent auction items for our dinner Dec. 9th is our top priority right now. We are only two months away!

Thanks,

Courtney

Foundation News

ESACC Students Receive Drone

Technology students at the ES Area Career Center received a drone gifted by board member Tray Harkins. Thanks for your support to our students, Tray!

Support Our Schools Webpage Launched

We have added a webpage to our website that includes multiple projects that we are working to fund in our schools. The hope is for this to be a place for community members to access and sponsor classrooms with needs.

Middle School Students Experiment with Virtual Reality

Students at the Middle School are now enjoying virtual reality trips thanks to the Foundation! We have included virtual reality headsets on the "Support Our Schools" webpage in hopes that we can obtain more of these sets for students to use.

Fiskars Donates Microscopes

Upon hearing that microscopes were needed by the middle school, Fiskars, ready to decommission some, donated them to the students. This donation didn't fulfill the entire need for microscopes, but Mike Anderson said he would cover the cost for what would be needed! Those microscopes have now been ordered and are on the way!

Pizzas with the Principals

Casey's General Store sponsored the first Pizza with the Principals of the year at Lewis Elementary! Students of the Month are recognized for their achievement by having pizza with their principals at the end of each month.

School Listening Posts

The district allowed the foundation time prior to each staff listening post to plug the Murder Mystery Masquerade and invite the staff to attend. We heard a lot of great things about the start of our school year and were fortunate to be a part of those discussions.
