Internet Safety
A quick guide to staying safe while browsing the web
Stranger Danger!
Strangers are not always scary looking and mean. Some can seem very nice, until they get your information and do something bad to you. People are not always who they say they are in cyber space. When you are on the internet, never share any information that might let someone be able to find you.
Never share private information.
This can include names, schools, age, phone number, addresses, or anything like that.
Keep passwords private.
Only tell your parents what your passwords are so that people can't access your private information.
Never open emails or links from strangers.
These could contain viruses that could harm your computer or could access your private information. Tell an adult immediately if something creepy happens!
Golden rule of the internet
Don't do anything online that you wouldn't do in real life. Treat people with the same kindness and respect that you do in real life and learn to report those who don't do that to you.
Do you really know who you are talking to?
