Dear Buff Family-
Hello Buffs!
The first semester has ended and we are well on our way through the 3rd 9-week grading period, which ends on March 5. We hope that you and your student have been continuing to take advantage of using TXConnect to monitor grades and attendance. Parents and students can each have their own accounts, which allows students to be able to monitor their own grades, as well as attendance. This is a great way for students to take ownership of their academic status in each course. If students did not pass a class the first semester, they are highly encouraged to work with their teachers to complete credit recovery. If students were denied credits due to attendance, they should be working with their vice principals to complete hours to restore credits. Keep working hard as we head into spring!
We are at the point in the school year where we have started working on planning for next year. If your student has not already had his/her 4-year meeting with one of counselors, it will be happening sometime before Spring Break. During these meetings, students will select classes they would like to take next year as well as their remaining years of high school. Students will take home their plan for parents to look over. Changes can be made if needed. After we return from Spring Break, you will get a list of the courses your student has selected in the mail. At that time, changes can still be made. We do ask that you look at these lists of selected courses carefully. This will help us plan for next year to ensure that students are able to take the classes they would like. Our Course Card and Course Handbook can be found at the tabs below. Remote students will be emailed a copy of their transcripts and 4-year plans. They will have an opportunity to Zoom with their alpha counselor if they would like to discuss their plan.
We hope that you are staying safe and healthy. We appreciate your support as we help our students in their future planning. Please reach out if you need assistance.
