Thank You Parents for an Amazing Teacher Appreciation Week!
From the Principal
Mott Owl Families,
We have many fun events and celebrations between now and the end of school. Students know about these upcoming events, and are excited. I compare that to children being excited about an upcoming family vacation. They practically vibrate for days, right?
We still have valuable learning going on every day. Please help your child's teachers by clearly stating your expectations that students come to school to learn. Maybe add an extra incentive at home for having a good day at school for the next three weeks. Your child's teachers will appreciate it!
Stay safe and well,
Tammy Rebecek
Thank You PTO!

2022-2023 School Enrollment
Enrollment for students new to Mott for the 2022-2023 school year has begun. All of the information needed, including the forms that must be completed can be found at this link: https://www.pfisd.net/domain/232 Existing Pre-K students will need to re-enroll for kindergarten and provide one proof of residency and an undated shot record. If your child is a current K-5 student at Mott, you do not need to re-enroll.
Enrolling new students before the end of the school year is very important, because we base staffing numbers on enrollment numbers. If we need more teachers, we would want to know that now instead of knowing that in August. Please pass this information along to all your new neighbors!
Please contact our registrar, Mr. Ray, for any enrollment questions. steven.ray@pfisd.net or 512-594-4738
Summer Skill Practice Enrichment for Students
As parents begin making plans for preventing the "summer slide", IXL has prepared resources to make that easy and fun.
Parent Handouts This one-page parent PDF includes login information, directions on choosing skills, and how to view progress. (Bonus: they are available in both English and Spanish!)
Summer Skill Plans are created as a set of plans that provide 20 days worth of skill recommendations for both enrichment and remediation, with a focus on challenging, summative skills that cover critical topics for each grade level in order to get students ready for the new school year:
- For Enrichment - Summer Adventures - Daily themed adventures that allow students to explore Math & ELA in grades K-1, and Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies skills in grades 2-8.
- For Remediation - Summer Boost: Math & ELA - Four weeks of IXL skills for solidifying essential Math & ELA concepts for students in K-12.
* For both plans, students should select their grade for the upcoming fall (e.g., rising third graders should use the third grade plan).
