HAVE YOU FACED A CLOSED DOOR?

Denied housing? Know Your Rights

H.E.R Foundation, a local non-profit organization, will soon join Metro Fair Housing Services, Inc. and begin hosting informative webinars that will inform citizens on the topic of affirmatively furthering fair housing - including, community development, fair housing choice, and our city’s obligation to form more inclusive communities.

Housing and lending discrimination occurs when people try to:

  • rent or buy a home
  • attempt to get homeowner's insurance
  • apply for a mortgage

Through compelling research, we discovered that thirty-five years after Congress enacted the Fair Housing Act, millions of complaints are still filed each year - through nonprofit fair-housing agencies, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Department of Justice.

3 Things To Know About Your Housing Rights

Monday, Jan. 25th, 6-6:15pm

This is an online event.

The webinar will particularly focus on women, ages 18-65, who have been disenfranchised concerning their housing choice. This series of webinars will be apart of our consumer awareness efforts to inform citizens of their fair housing rights. Our desired outcome is for attendees to leave the webinar with a greater understanding of fair housing laws, their fair housing rights, and who to call when they face housing related discrimination.
