A Message From Dr. Ricks
Parents and Friends,
Welcome back! It was wonderful having a few days to celebrate Mardi Gras, but it is also good to be back into our routines. Our Ash Wednesday Eucharist marked the beginning of Lent. Students in 1st-8th grades attended the service and Imposition of Ashes in church, and I was thrilled to have so many parents join us. Father Richard's message was well-received by the students as he talked with them about Lent and that it is a time not only of giving things up but also of taking on new disciplines as a way to prepare for Easter.
Congratulations to our Middle School Baseball and Softball teams who won games this week. We have had beautiful days to play ball, and the Grace Gators were well-represented by these young athletes and their coaches. Nice work!
For the past two days, Father Richard, the Vestry, the School Board and the GES Administrative staff spent time with Father David Madison. Father David is the Executive Director of SAES (Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools), and we were fortunate to have him visit and lead meetings on the strength of the Episcopal partnership between Grace Church and School. It was powerful, meaningful time spent as we continue to collaborate in order to create a place where your children and teachers come together to pray, to play, and to work.
Finally, thank you for your continued support towards our reaching our Annual Fund goal. We are truly blessed!
Warmly,
Dr. Beth J, Ricks
