Little Warriors Investigate Worms

Mrs. Pittman's kindergarten class at Callahan Intermediate School learned about 'Living and Nonliving' things using gummy worms and REAL WORMS! Students were able to get an up-close look at the differences and similarities between the two types of worms, and they observed NIGHTCRAWLER WORMS using their senses like scientists! Then, we set the 'living' worms free and learned how they are good for the soil and plants.

Adventures in the Enchanted Forest Library

Students at Yulee Elementary School enjoy Pirate Week in the Enchanted Forest Library. There were lots of smiles and giggles as they listened and participated in Pirate stories.

A New Playground for Mighty Warriors

Callahan Intermediate School was able to purchase new playground equipment from a very successful Warrior Run last year. The students love the new climbers.

Ramblers Receive a STEM Grant

Mrs. Reeve's at Callahan Middle School is the recipient of S.T.E.M. materials from the Department of Defence and Navy. Students complete S.T.E.M. challenges using donated materials with their partners during math centers.

Little Warriors Investigating Apples!

During STEM, Mrs. Wheeler’s students at Callahan Elementary School studied frozen and fresh apples. They were able to read and learn about the pros and cons of fresh and frozen apples, why stores would sell frozen apples, and what happens if they don’t freeze the apples. They were then able to observe the difference in taste, how they looked, and how they felt.

Little Pirates Touching Math

Southside Elementary School's Pre-K team is excited to be using the Touch Math curriculum for the first time! It’s a very hands-on program. Perfect for their busy learners! It’s going to be a great year, full of PreK energy and cuteness!

Scientist Spotted in the Hive!

Ms. Rutledge's fifth-grade class at Yulee Elementary School experimented to determine what happens to M&Ms and Skittles when placed in hot and cold water. Students were able to practice all the steps of the Scientific Process and learned about a printable paper that is edible. This is why the M and S float in the water.
