State of the Schools Report 2018-2019
Our theme for this year’s State of the School’s report is Catholic Schools: Better Together. The format of the report will once again be 8 ½ x 11 with no pocket. Please take a few moments to provide us with information for the State of the Schools report by completing the following form. We ask that you complete all parts of the form that apply to your school, whether or not you choose to order any copies of the report. If you do choose to order reports, they will be sent to your school in time for Catholic Schools Week distribution. Thank you for your prompt attention to this request.
If your school has a few photos that illustrate inclusive Catholic education, please send JPGs as email attachments by October 5 to Jenny Miroglotta at jmiroglotta@dioceseofcleveland.org along with the release form for any identifiable student(s) in the photos for possible inclusion in the report. Photos that are too large to email can also be shared through Google Drive. In the email, please include name of school and situation. Close-up photos of engaged students would be appreciated.
In addition, we would love your help in focusing on successes in inclusive education in your school. Your school does not have to be in the Better Together Initiative to contribute. Please consider submitting examples of any of the following by emailing Jenny Miroglotta by
October 5:
- A brief highlight of a student currently in your school or recently graduated with learning differences who experienced success in your school and what that success entailed.
- A description of any adult or student in your school who contributed to the success of a classmate with learning differences and his or her contribution.
- A description of a recently implemented program in your school to assist exceptional learners.
Thank you for your assistance and contributions!
It's Not Too Late to Be the Light
Another program that was launched at The Fest was the Stick Together Anti-Bullying program. There were hundreds of kids who signed the pledge that day with us. Approximately 25 of our schools already participate in the program. In today's culture with the terrible school violence that happens, it would be great if we could get all of our schools involved in some type of anti-bullying program. If you don't participate in any program, please go to the Stick Together–Project Love web site and sign up to have your kids take the pledge to be kind and "Stick Together" against bullies. https://www.viafdn.org/stick-together. The Stick Together schools will be receiving information throughout the year to keep the message in front of your students. You will get more information soon or you can contact Lisa Cinadr, principal at St. Ambrose for information.
If your school already takes part in another program, we would love to hear about it. Send details to Dolores Bruno at dbruno@dioceseofcleveland.org.
