Winter NWEA testing window is beginning on Monday, January 7. Individual teachers will be providing specific dates and times for their classes. Be sure your child has a good nights rest prior to the testing date, as well as a nutritious breakfast the morning of. Students will be testing in the morning, shortly after their arrival to school, as research indicates students perform better when testing in the morning.
Parent Survey: Please take 10 minutes of your time to take the survey that you will be receiving on Monday, January 14. The survey will be available to take through Friday, January 25. We value parent information/feedback and work hard to make any improvements and/or strengthen programming at Steeby. We typically receive around 15% of parents that respond to this survey. We would love to have upwards of 50% of parents respond this year. The best time to complete the survey is sometime the day you receive it. Let's face it, we are all busy, and when we say to ourselves "I'll do that later", often times we don't, and when we realize we didn't do it, the deadline has passed. I'm guilty of this myself.
Thank you for your continued efforts at home working to educate your child! It takes education from school and educating at home for a child to excel in today's world.
If I may be of any assistance with any questions or concerns you have please contact Steeby's main office. I will return your inquiry within 24 hours.

Media Center News
Next on the agenda in media will be lessons on Digital Citizenship. Students will be learning how to be safe, respectful and responsible online. We will use digital citizenship lessons from Common Sense Media. The Common Sense Media website https://www.commonsensemedia.org/ is a great website for parents as well. The website has age ratings and reviews for books, movies, apps and games.
Here's to another great year of learning! Happy 2019!
