4th Grade News
The Week of May 1st
Stanford Testing
We are in our last two days of testing. Therefore, we will not assign homework in math and grammar tonight or tomorrow night. The students will have a reading log to complete. Our normal schedule will resume on Wednesday. Please contact your homeroom teachers with any questions you may have.
Field Day
Field Day is FRIDAY! I would like to clarify pick up time. Please be at the park to pick up your child by 12:30 p.m. Thank you! The students are so excited for this day. Thanks to our wonderful Dad's Club, you do not need to worry about packing your child a lunch. A sign up genius will be coming to you via email regarding snacks, drinks, and other necessities. Thank you to our room mother's for planning this.
End of the year party
Please mark your calendar for our party, Thursday, June 1st. If you have a pool and you would like to host this wonderful event please email Mrs. Sontag at sontage@stgeorgesepiscopal.com We will send out a time, and sign up genius once we have finalized details about the party with our room mothers.
Service Project
Every year our fourth graders participate in a service project to benefit the community. This year, we have teamed up with the Dragon Cafe. The fourth grade students were given a letter that you should have received on Friday. This letter explained that we are collecting items to bag up into "care bags" that will be distributed to people in need at the Dragon Cafe. Your child was assigned a certain item, please ask them for the letter if they have not given it to you. We ask that you send in as much of that item as you wish to but at least 5 of each. Thank you for supporting your child in serving those less fortunate then them.
SPIRIT DAY WEDNESDAY!
This Wednesday is spirit day at St. George's. Students may wear their field day shirt and any bottoms of their choosing. We will gather together and celebrate!
Social Studies
We will be working on the FOURTH GRADE CHALLENGE starting today. The students will be getting study guides and we encourage them to begin learning those fifty states and capitals. Below I have provided you with a song that will help them remember the states.
Fifty Nifty United States
Kahoot!
Kahoot is something we utilize in class for all subjects. The kids LOVE it. Kahoot can be played on any iPad, phone, or computer. Try it as a family to help study for the challenge! There are a lot of kahoots already created for the fifty states and capitals under public kahoots.
Have a great week!
