Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Student Achievement:
During the month of April, Year 10 student Alfie H is taking part in the lunges challenge, raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Throughout the month he will be doing at least 5000 lunges and his family and friends have sponsored him. On average he needs to do at least 167 lunges per day to stay on track. Keep up the good work Alfie!

PE:
Students of the week this week are:
Jennifer 7TE, Harry 8CO, Jamila 9SW, Angel 10TA and Pacey 11TA. Sports Science students Finley D 10CA and Maja 11ST and finally, Year 12 Sport and Physical activity student Niko. Well done to you all!
Mr Rogers has nominated 9TA for their excellent work in PE this week, they demonstrated excellent collaboration and teamwork. Also nominated are Ashton, Ryan and Billie in 7TA for their excellent work in PE.
Maths:
Mr Horne has nominated Mia and Logan (7TE) for excellent work on statistics and statistical diagrams.
Mrs Ferns would like to say well done to Year 11 for their positive attitude during their first formal assessment in Maths.
Music:
Miss Welters would like to nominate Antoni M (8TA) for his fantastic progress in his piano lessons. He has been quick to learn, he listens well and works hard in his own time, and Miss Welters is starting to see excellent results. Well done Antoni!
Miss Patrick would like to celebrate 7SI for their brilliant keyboard renditions of ‘We Found Love’. A special mention goes to Sol, Kai, Alexander and Sebastian for their GarageBand recordings – excellent work!
In year 9 Miss Patrick would like to say ‘well done’ to Dawa and Jana in 9CA & Myrtle and Willow in 9TA for their great ukulele performance work, playing along to Hound Dog.
The music department would also like to celebrate CJ, Dylan and Gaby in 8ST. They did really well today learning a grade 1 drumming piece, reading the notation accurately.
MFL:
Mrs Cook has nominated the following German students:
Sonny T, Ellie B and Kacper for their perseverance with their exams.
Mrs Sahota has nominated 9CA Spanish for their continued hard work, effort and focus in completing their independent task sheets. Also nominated are Mrs Sahota's Year 10 Spanish Group, Mrs Sahota has been very impressed with all of their hard work, focus and how they have applied themselves to completing their independent task sheets. Well done. Keep up the great work!
English:
Miss Vye has nominated her Year 8 group, especially Stas and Matty M for taking part in really interesting debates in class.
Humanities:
Miss Bird has nominated Dougan (7TA) for his consistent hard work across Geography and History. I have been really impressed by his concentration and contribution in Geography. Also, Angela and Stas in 8CO for their fabulous answers during source analysis tasks in history – very impressive! Sarah and Chanel J (9ST) both produced wonderful high level answers in response questions based on the female suffrage movement. Well done girls, you considered a range of factors and came to a great judgement. Finally, congratulations to 8CA and 8SW for the GREAT scores in their knowledge checks, their hard work is clearly paying off.
Mrs Vaghadia has nominated Year 9 RSCS student Seth for his excellent contribution to the lessons. Jennifer (7ST) is also nominated for her for her excellent contribution to the RSCS lesson and always completing work to a high standard. Finally Danils (8ST) for his consistent contribution to the lesson and working hard.
Miss Buffini has nominated Deliana, William and Jasmine 7TU, Hayden and Aleksandra in 7CU and Dylan 7TE for great work in History this week and well done to Dominik in 7TA for some excellent answers in Numeracy Booster.
Art:
Nominated this week for fantastic work in Art are:
Year 10 students Lana , Emma May, Jenson , Neave and Oliwia. Year 9 students Emma P, Kacper, Danilis, Amelia, Hollie and Georgiana. Year 8 students Roman, Stanislaw, Aadi, Gretil and Greta and in Year 7, Logan, Ugne and Tyler.
Special mention to Year 11 Art students who are working very hard on their portfolios.
Science:
Miss Coulson has nominated the following Year 10 students for the excellent work in Chemistry this week:
