Instructional Coaches Corner: Exit Tickets
Exit Ticket Menu
Video: “Assess and Plan with Exit Tickets”
Twitter Exit Ticket: Because Twitter only allows for 140 characters, this exit ticket is great to use when summarizing the learning or asking a question. Twitter also allows for some creativity in developing hashtag responses to the learning experience.
Instagram Exit Ticket: Using pictures or graphics to share about the learning experience.
Shape Thoughts: 4 different exit ticket options in which a shape guides the response. For example:
Square: I am squared away with these ideas...
Triangle: 3 points worth remembering...
Circle: These questions are circling around in my head...
Octagon: STOP, I am still confused about…
“I Wonder…”: Create a culture of questioning and inquiry with this exit ticket.
Generic Exit Ticket created by Sharon MacDermaid
Give me a . and a ?: Use sticky notes or a ½ sheet of paper for students to provide one statement about what they learned and one question they still have.
3, 2, 1 Menu: 3 things…, 2 things…, 1 thing…
The Muddiest Point: Students identify the one “muddiest” point in the class, lecture, activity, assignment, etc.
The Clearest Point~The Muddiest Point: LIke The Muddiest point, but this ticket adds The Clearest Point as well.
One Sentence Summary: Ask students to answer the following questions “Who does what to whom, when, where, how and why?” and then synthesize those answers into one summarized sentence.
Don’t Misunderstand Me…

Here’s what I might say to that person to help them better understand the “truth”...
