Andrew Engel's pumpkin!
Andrew did such an amazing job growing this 158 Lb pumpkin! It took him 5 months to grow.
You wouldn't believe everything that goes into getting a pumpkin to this point. Soon Andrew will harvest the seeds. Way to go Andrew!
More pumpkin talk....The pumpkins are out again at Mr. Joe's house on Childs street.
He won the contest again this year for largest pumpkin according to Kim Engel, 1760 Lb's!
Just a reminder of cell phone/device use from the CUSD200 Student Handbook.
Cellphones or any electronic communication device not to be used during the school day.
Nothing new as this has been the policy for many years.
The paragraphs below are from the handbook...

Lions Club...FOOD DRIVE ENDS TUESDAY!
Lions Club
Each year, the Wheaton Lions host a food drive that supports the People's Resource Center. Our school will once again serve as a collection site. Our collection box is located in the office. Last year, our District 200 schools collected more than 1,000 pounds of food and we are hoping to beat that record this year! Thank you in advance for your support.

Fire Prevention Week, October 9-15th, is a great week to:
- change the batteries in your smoke detectors
- make a home escape plan in case of fire

Volunteers needed!

Welcome Carol Karkkainen!

Don't forget it's getting cold!

Wellness Tip
Did you know each year about 8.8 million tons of plastic trash flows into the ocean. This waste endangers wildlife, pollutes the water, and puts human health at risk?
You can help us all be healthier by:
-Not using plastic straws
-Choosing a cone over a cup and plastic spoon for ice cream
-Using reusable containers or wrap for your sack lunch.
-Use a soap bar instead of a plastic bottle.
These are all great ways to have a healthier planet and a healthier you!
