Let it Snow!
The kids were super excited to come back to school and have snow to play in! We do go outside unless the temperature is too low, so please remember coats, hats, and gloves! We had some really cold little fingers outside today!
Our Christmas tree appeared in our classroom over the break. We will have an ornament station at our centers all month so the kids will get to make 4 types of ornaments over the course of the month. We are also teaming up with Miss Sara's kindergarten class to collect canned and boxed food for the Idaho Food Bank. We will be putting the food under our Christmas tree in class and Miss Sara and I will deliver the food to the food bank on the 18th.
In the midst of all of our Christmas festivities, we will also be adding some new letter sounds to our centers and completing our All About Me books. We also have some exciting ice science projects that will carry into January. We will have a fun cooking project this month too!
I will have sign-ups for the holiday party out next week. It will be a cookie decorating party and it will be really fun!
Our classroom has an elf named Buddy who hides every night and has to be found the next day. He brings fun prizes, books, and lessons with him from Santa! We will also get to call and check in with Santa several times throughout the month!
Please remember to continue to practice that pencil grasp at home! Also, lots of counting as you go about your day. :)
