Half Day Kindergarten AM / PM?

Anderson Elementary School - CUSD #303

Dear Incoming Kindergarten Families,

We hope you have had an opportunity to review the July 13, 2020 presentation to the School Board titled 2020-2021 Reopen School Plan. The plan requires the District to alter the kindergarten offerings for the 2020-2021 school year to be Half-Day Kindergarten only.

There will be several considerations for half-day kindergarten placement, including the need to balance class sizes in both the morning and afternoon. As part of our considerations, and to the best of our ability, we would like to consider if your family has a preference for an a.m. or p.m. class for your child(ren). Morning kindergarten will be in attendance from 8:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Afternoon kindergarten will be in attendance from 11:25 a.m. to 1:40 p.m.

Thank you for your quick response to this form. We will do our best to accommodate families' preferences but can not guarantee that every family will be assigned to the session of their choice.

We will notify families as soon as possible regarding your AM or PM placement. I know first hand how important it is to set up child care.

Please click here to select your preference.

Thank you,

Mr. Jarot

Who are the Anderson Kindergarten Teachers?

Meet Mrs. Peterson

Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Liz Peterson and this will be my 21st year at Anderson Elementary School. I’ve taught many grades throughout my time at Anderson including; first, third and fourth. This will be my 5th year in kindergarten. I graduated from ISU and continued on to get my masters degree in educational leadership from Aurora University. I have 3 kids of my own Will (13), Ben (11), and Emma (10). They keep my husband Jeff and I very busy hustling them to all their activities. We spend a lot of time as a family, going on bike rides, runs and walks with our 2 dogs, Walter and Matilda. I am very fond of exercise, shopping and coffee . I can not wait to meet the incoming kindergartners and their families. It’s going to be a great year full of fun and learning.

Meet Mrs. Wit

My name is Becky Wit. This will be my 13th year in the classroom and my 4th year in d303 teaching kindergarten. I hold a bachelors degree from Taylor University and a Masters from Aurora University. I took a 12-year break from the classroom to be home with my 4 children. They are now ages 8 - 14, 3rd grade through freshman, in Batavia this fall. My husband Steve is also in education, teaching science and coaching basketball at Glenbard North. We have a one year old dog Roxy that has had lots of extra walks and attention during our quarantine days. I love spending time with my family, watching my kids sports and activities which fills most of my free time. I can't wait to meet your child and help them feel safe and excited to learn together.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Wit
