Trailblazer Times
March 12, 2021
Dear VBL Families,
Dear VBL Families,
We are returning to full time in person learning starting March 22nd! School begins at 9:00 and dismisses at 3:30. Do not bring students to school until 8:30 as there is no supervision until that time.
And our first fundraiser is scheduled for March 26th Panda Express! Come on by, feed the family, and support VBL at the same time. Bring the flyer or use the code to credit VBL.
All students will be expected to attend Monday - Thursday from 9:00-3:30. We will be continuing to practice reasonable social distancing in the learning lab, classroom and at lunch.
All students will need to bring their own pencil or pen, dry erase markers, their language arts and math notebook, a standard/metric ruler computer and charger each day. Students may bring snacks and lunch or can order lunch each morning. Breakfast is also available.
Tax Credit Time is here! Please consider designating your tax credit to vbl. You have until April 15th. All money designated will be returned to you in either your refund or subtracted from your payment. This is a no risk designation. All funds are used to benefit student activities.
The daily schedule will remain the same as it has been and VBL time will continue to be culture building activities here at school.
Have I mentioned that I am so excited?
Today is the last day of Quarter 3. Report cards and benchmark results will be mailed home on March 22nd.
In other news, VBL students contributed $930.72 for the American Heart Association Fundraiser. That is more than double of what they raised last year. Our WEB team sold Valentine Grams and donated the funds to AHA as well. Thank you for all of your support.
Because of this, the sliming of myself and Mrs. Tankersley will commence on March 31st.
In addition to that sliming, more VBL students participated in the Vail Pride Day Fun Run than any other school in the district and we will be sliming Mr. Carruth as well! I am so proud of our students and their accomplishments this year. It’s definitely worth a little slime.
AZMERIT testing is coming soon! Students will need to come to school to take their test. Please fill out this form to let me know that you are able to come to school during the scheduled days.
Please make sure that if anyone in your household is showing flu like symptoms that you notify the school and keep students away from campus. If anyone in your home has tested positive for COVID or has been exposed to anyone with COVID please notify our attendance clerk, Jeannie Mindziak at 879-1302, or mindziakj@vailschooldistrict.org for instructions. Following the CDC guidelines for school attendance will help keep us open, and get us through this semester.
Students are expected to follow their schedule Monday - Thursday from home exactly as they are now, including using the Learning Lab time for Edmentum.
Please remind students to be on time for each class with camera and microphone on and follow the same behavior and academic expectations that would be expected if they were here. Our goal is to make this as close to being at school as possible.
Students and parents are assigned and notified if they have re-teach classes from 3:00-3:30 each week through email. Please help your student adapt their schedule when they are assigned re-teach. This is the time students have the opportunity to change their formative grades and learn concepts the
Thank you for all of your support in this unusual circumstance. Please reach out for any reason.
Have a safe and fun spring break!
Kristin
