This Week's Learning...
Everyday Math
Students completed their Unit 4 math tests this past Wednesday. The Unit 4 test and progress reports will be sent home with your child early next week.
Students are also beginning unit 5 which focuses on multi-digit multiplication. The method Everyday Math encourages students to use is called the box or window method. This method is grounded in the place value we have been practicing all year. For an example how the box method is completed please see the video below.

Be Connected to Our Classroom
Green Team and Right-to-Write
This month Green Team is working with each grade level to collect unused pencils and gently used pens to donate for an organization called Right-to-Write. This organization donates the unused pencils and gently used pens to developing countries. These items are donated to schools, hospitals, orphanages, and more! Each grade level has a basket outside their classrooms to put these items in.
Green Team will be collected these items until Tuesday, December 22nd.
The 4th Grade Giving Tree
Thank you to everyone who has donated items to the Fort Atkinson Food Pantry so far! We almost have one full box of items to donate. If you are still interested in donating to the Fort Atkinson Food Pantry please encourage your student to take an ornament off of our giving tree. We will be collecting items for donation until Tuesday, December 22nd.
Holiday Party
Our classroom holiday party will be held in the afternoon on Tuesday, December 22nd. If you are interested in donating items for our party, the sign up sheets will be coming home on Monday.
