IHLA NEWS
Literacy session on November 30
Workshop Description:
This workshop will present information about the acquisition of language and the benefits of acquiring more than one language. The first part of the workshop will focus on the acquisition of literacy and how, even though literacy is considered a transferable skill, differences in structure and writing systems can pose potential difficulties to additive literacy, the transfer of first language literacy to second language literacy. The second part of the workshop will look at some classroom activities that can promote the acquisition and transfer of literacy.
Respectfully,
Natalia Kovaliova
Program Coordinator
