Wiggin Street Parent Update

April 14, 2022

Better Together

Dear Wiggin Street Families,

Our students have a spring in their step as we enter into the last 6 weeks of school. So many exciting things are happening! We look forward to having the community back in the building for our Spring Fun Festival, and we are planning for the Talent Show, Staff vs. 5th Grade Hockey Game, Field Day, and End of the Year Picnic.

If you have not visited one of the Wiggin Street Fun Festivals, you are in for a treat this year! There are fun games, bounce houses, and food, so plan to have dinner! These are memories that your kids will keep for a lifetime, and we have middle school and high school students coming back to volunteer at their elementary school. Thanks to all of you that have signed up to volunteer too!

The staff at Wiggin Street wishes you a wonderful long weekend!

Pysanky Eggs

Students in 4th grade created Ukrainian Easter Eggs (Pysanky) after reading the story Rechenka's Eggs by Patricia Polacco. Pysanky is a Ukrainian tradition of creating eggs decorated with traditional folk designs using a wax-resist method. Students created their own designs after learning about different symbols that Ukrainians may have or continue to use in their artwork. The student's pysanky was our way of sending good thoughts to those who may be experiencing difficult times across the world.

"Art is a universal language and through it each nation makes its own unique contribution to the culture of mankind." -- Dwight D. Eisenhower

2nd Grade Tea Party

Mrs. Clippinger's class had a tea party today as a culminating event to their unit on fairy tales. They also used the opportunity to practice good manners.
