Weekly Update for March 28 - April 1, 2022
Good Evening Brightwood Family, this is Principal Stokes!
Welcome to another great week of learning. Happy Sunday! This is reminder that our doors open at 7:00 am and tardy bell rings at 7:25 am. Please remember that everyone should be prepared to show an identification card when picking up a student early which should be for emergencies and appointments and should be done before 1:45 pm.
Spring pictures and class pictures will take place on Monday March 28. Class Pictures cost $10 and individual pictures prices vary. Please see the flyer that was shared on ClassDojo for individual picture prices. We have a lot of testing coming up before Spring Break and yes, we still have a lot teaching and learning that must occur. We need each student to report to school daily and on time daily.
Our 3rd graders will be taking their Math Interim Assessment on Tuesday March 29 and grade 3-5 will be taking their ELA Interim Assessment on Thursday.
Each morning from 7:25 – 8:00 am our students are engaged in EOG prep it is very difficult for the students to get the needed practice and feedback if they are late daily as we work to prepare them for the EOG assessment.
World Autism Awareness Day is Saturday April 2 Light It Up Blue in recognition of people with Autism and those who love and support them. Report cards will be coming home April 6, in student’s weekly Wednesday folder next week.
The district has provided new One Cards for all of our students. They have distributed three weeks ago. One Cards are a safety measure to assure that we know who is on our buses and in our school buildings each day. Please help your child keep track of their One Card and have it on each morning. One Cards are needed to get on the bus each morning. Also, One Cards are scanned each morning when they enter the building.
As we know it was voted that students have an option for wearing their mask. If your child is coughing, sneezing and/or showing any cold/flu like symptoms we will ask them to put on mask as a layer of protections. As before if your child is displaying of the symptom please keep them home and get them tested and/or seek medical guidance from your medical physician.
We greatly appreciate your support as we continuously work to provide an excellent education every day to each of our Brightwood Tiger this school year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us here at the school or send us a message on ClassDojo.
Thank you for all that you do and have a great evening. And Remember as always you are amazing!
Love Your Proud Principal
Ms. LaTrice Stokes
