How The Canadians Benefitted From The Chinese Immigrants

Many Chinese Immigrants risked their lives working on the Cp Rail because of the bad conditions in the mountains. They weren't paid very well because they only got 1$ per week. every mile they went about 4 people died. They earned one dollar a day, two-thirds of the money a white man earned. they mostly ate bread and soup. After the Cp Rail was done in 1885 some of the Chinese wanted to bring their family over but it was 50$ to bring someone over. In 1900 They raised the head tax to 100$ and then in 1903 they raised it to 500$. I know why they raised the head tax and it was to stop people to keep coming in.
