Solving America's Obesity Crisis

Two hundred million Americans are overweight and 100 million are obese
Obesity - everyone knows it's bad and that it's everywhere.
Nearly 78 million adults and 13 million children in the United States deal with health and emotional effects of obesity every day. the solution to their problem sounds deceptively simple - take in fewer calories a day, while cranking up the calorie-burning process with regular exercising.
The obesity crisis is the greatest threat to this nation's future. At home, at school, and in the workplace, the terrible toll of suffering is being felt. Obesity plays a central role in creating our major causes of death and disability:
- stroke
- arthritis
- heart disease
- Alzheimer's disease
- type II diabetes
Here are some ways you can help prevent obesity:
Eat your veggies
- Eat more fruit, vegetables, nuts, and whole grains.Use vegetable-based oils rather than animal-based fats.
Exercise
- Exercise, even moderately, for at least 30 minutes a day.
Junk food drags you down
- Cut down your consumption of fatty and sugary foods.
