Oak Grove Newsletter - October 16, 2020
Oak Grove Families,
We are excited to resume in-person, blended learning, for students this week. Gold group students will return on Tuesday, October 20th, and Green group students will return on Wednesday, October 21st.
Oak Grove and USD 202 work very closely with the Wyandotte County Health Department regarding COVID-19. We are continuously looking at ways to improve protocols and enhance safety measures further. As a result, some changes and adjustments will be in place when students return.
- While all staff and students wear masks throughout the day, some staff in mobile positions will now utilize mask devices that enhance protection further.
- Support services provided for students will be structured differently to limit and reduce opportunities for exposure.
- Specials classes will be structured differently and will now be provided in separate and larger Specials classrooms or virtually. This will allow for greater distancing and enable additional cleaning and sanitizing between groups.
- Through partnership with Wyandotte County Health Department, the district is close to bringing saliva based COVID testing into schools. Parents would need to provide permission, but this would enable quicker, non-evasive testing that could result in same day awareness, enabling us to quarantine and contact trace faster.
As always, please let us know if there is anything we can do to help your student(s) be successful. We greatly appreciate your partnership and flexibility throughout this process. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. The Oak Grove phone number is 913-288-3900.
