Summer's Over...Let's Jump Start Our Brains!
August is here and that means soon our classrooms will be overtaken by wild, creative and eager minds. Is your mind ready? Take this quick BuzzFeed quiz to find out how your 'noodle' works. There is also an interesting "Which Pop Star Are You" quiz...but I though this was more appropriate. Not there is any science to a BuzzFeed quiz...but it gets you thinking about who is about to sit in your perfectly decorated classroom and challenge you to be the best teacher you can be. What kind of thinkers are you cultivating? How are you stretching your mind to help them stretch their minds? Good luck this year! Keep Calm and Be Awesome!
From the Beginning...
Click below to discover some fun projects to kick off your year! NOTE: These projects will help set your students up for a very 'tech savvy' and fun year!
Create All About Me Websites
This is a fun, easy project that can set your kids up with a platform for sharing information throughout the year. Weebly allows you to create individual pages for your students for free! All of the accounts are under your control. Start with a simple "Get to Know Me" page. Trust me, they will pick it up in minutes and soon be showing you cool features of the site!
Google Drive Collaboration
Introduce (or remind your students) about Google Drive! Write a collaborative story where each student (or group of students) contributes a sentence or paragraph to create a written work of art. Have fun talking about the writing process while practicing with Google Drive!
QR Code Exploration
Create QR Codes using a QR Code Generator found on the internet. Post the QR codes throughout the school or your classroom and let the learning begin! Have student explore the different parts of the building or learn your classroom expectations. The possibilities are endless!
