Staff Appreciation Week
Each person in our school plays a vital role as educators in the lives of our students. We have one of the most important jobs in the world- to teach and protect the lives of our students each day. We are blessed to see the love and care that goes on in our building on a daily basis- in the hallways, classrooms, cafeteria, recess. Not only are each of you teaching our students but you are teaching them much more than just reading, writing and math. You are teaching them academics, manners, hygiene, friendship, emotional composure, compassion, patience.....the list goes on and on. THANK YOU!! Thank you for going above and beyond. You do so much more than really anyone knows you do....so, we thank you for everything. Thank you for welcoming our students each day with open arms, for loving them even if they are hard to love, for making them feel welcomed and for making our school the safest place of their day.
We hope you enjoy your special week- aren't we lucky that the parents in our school value us and want to take time out of their lives to thank us and spoil us?? We are truly blessed to be doing this job that we love.
Lots to celebrate!

Just a reminder: ACCESS TESTING for our ESL Students
We are still ACCESS testing for all ESL students in our school. Candyce will be testing in her room and Elke will be in Kim Deatons room. Caroline will be using A100 for her first graders after LLP is over.
We need all students to travel silently in the hallways and especially by the restrooms. They will begin after the morning announcement.
They will be testing through late February.
Just a reminder: Important Meeting hosted by our School Improvement Council
- Our SIC (School Improvement Council) will be hosting a legislative event on February 10th at 6:00 in our cafeteria. This is an event that each teacher is HIGHLY encouraged and recommended to attend. We have two delegates from the York County legislature coming to share their position on education. We have invited all elementary SIC's in the district to attend; as well as Dr. Epps and our School Board. This is a great way to support our profession and to hear what our delegates have to say. If you attend the meeting on February 10th, you will have two hours to use towards the teacher workday in March. You can come in two hours late or leave two hours early. Again, I highly encourage you to attend. Click on the attachment below to view the flyer. We will have a sign in sheet for staff.
