Greetings to the Britt Elementary School Community!
The winter months are swiftly moving by, and we must make the most of remaining instructional time to equip our dear children with grade level academic knowledge and skills. I want to thank each of you for going the extra mile to plan and deliver instruction that is rigorous, challenging, and engaging. I have observed students working in collaborative groups, learning using a variety of technology tools and programs, and problem solving. I have also observed students engaged in a variety of morning clubs as well as after school chorus. In addition, the Title I Extended Learning Program began last week to support students with math skills. Yes, Britt students are learning; and Britt students are benefiting from the school effect made possible by you.
As we continue to make sure our students are engaged in effective learning, we will also be planning for 2016-2017. Thank you to all who completed your preference placement forms. We have Britt faculty and staff members who have decided to retire, and we also have some folks who would like to move to other schools in the district for one reason or another. The Britt Leadership Team and the Britt Administrative Team will be making plans for the upcoming year. If you have further suggestions or input into plans for 2016-2017, please speak with an administrator or to your Leadership Team representative. It is imperative that we have an outstanding plan in place for Britt Elementary School for the upcoming school year.
Let me know how I can best support your good work at Britt Elementary School as we all strive together using effective, innovative practices to transform and personalize teaching and learning.
With warmest regards,
Britt Elementary School, going strong in 2016!
- I want to highlight the excellent work of Britt Counselor Monica Mance. Last week was Counselor Appreciation Week, and I was honored to attend the Counselor Appreciation Program in the board room at the ISC with Monica. Thank you, Monica, for all you do to support our students. The counselor newsletter you send monthly is very helpful and informative.
- I want to highlight the work of Dr. Luann Hammami, Britt Parent Center Coordinator, for her work on the organization committee for the Georgia Family Engagement Conference. Thank you, Dr. Hammami, for all you do to support the families in the Britt community.
- A note of appreciation to Alaina Moore for assisting with students waiting in the afternoons for buses that arrive late in the bus lanes. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
- If you have not yet completed your RBES survey, please complete it as soon as possible. The deadline is Monday, February 15, at midnight. Thank you so much!
