Using Context Clues
These EES students are practicing their skill of using context clues to determine the meanings of words in Peter Pan.
Aw Shucks!
These WES fifth grade students are making cornshuck dolls for the Art Show. The students are learning about arts and crafts that were used throughout Alabama History.
Pinch Pots
These members of the Turtle Class at CCPS made pinch pots in art class this week. A pinch pot is a simple form of hand-made pottery produced to be decorative or functional. It was fun to learn about the history of the pinch pot.
CMS Parent Meeting
Math Consortium Unpacks New Standards
CHS was the host for a recent consortium of math teachers who unpacked the newly approved standards for their content area. It was a very productive day!
One Key to Success
WES 3rd grade students have been improving their words per minute and accuracy using one of our great resources, typing.com. In today's world even our youngest students need good keyboarding skills.
As Easy as BLT
Math was extra delicious at EES this week with our BLTs! Students are mastering changing mixed numbers into improper fractions using the BLT method! Start at the (B)ottom. Multiply the (L)eft and add the (T)op! What an easy trick! And some students tried their first BLT too!!
CHS Basketball
CHS basketball is in full swing! If you haven't been to a game you are missing a great event! You may even see a run on some 3s! Come out and join us!

CMS Band Receives Tenth Instrument Donation
The Buchmanns have, once again, been the contributors of a new instrument to the CMS Band program. Ray Buchmann and his wife, Benton, donated a Gemeinhardt flute to the program.
