R.B. Stall High School
Meet Tykuan McRae, a Leadman at Baker Roofing Company Charleston!
He wasn't sure where he was headed after high school, so his engineering teacher encouraged him to visit his school's job fair. After meeting the Baker team there, he decided to follow that path. Two weeks after graduating in 2018, he joined the team!
He was still learning the ropes when Hurricane Florence hit the Carolinas and he was sent to Wilmington, NC to repair a hospital roof. He says that has remained a highlight of his career to travel for work and be part of a greater effort to help a community in need.
When asked about who around him he looks up to, he mentions his Foreman Mitch, or as he calls him, the "super roofer"! He can rely on Mitch to have knowledge of every situation and the capability to explain the steps necessary with ease. Tykuan is proud to say that he has developed a trait similar to this. As the Charleston team grows more and adds roofing rookies to the force, he has an ability to relate to them and explain things in a way that is unintimidating. We've learned this is a trait that doesn't come easy!
Thank you Baker Roofing for celebrating one of CCSD's former students!
