Hello Families!
Elementary students have been talking about peer pressure, how to stand up to bullies, how to compromise, and have positive healthy friendships. I ask for your help at home discussing what is real bullying, what is teasing and what is a mean moment. If you would like more information how it is addressed at school feel free to reach out to me. This is an area i have addressed on many levels this year. We are also talking about the size of the problem, if it is a me problem, little problem or a large(unsafe) problem that needs to be reported. We have spent time addressing tattling and reporting...what is the difference?
Middle School students have worked on team work, discussed apologies and how to give one that is meaningful. we have also talked about growth mindset vs fixed and how that looks. The students set a SMART goal for themselves for the remainder of the school year. We will also be addressing topics such as personal space, boundaries, behavior that is not appropriate in an inclusive environment. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me.
8th graders are all registered for high school..Yeah, congratulations!
I would like to thank our distance learning families for allowing our partnership with UND Education Program to serve their children. This has been a positive experience for all involved. I love hearing the stories and positive mentorships that have been formed.
***PARENTS of students in middle school: please encourage your student to use the STOP it app, or the See Something Say Something forms to report any concern they may be questioning, or if they witness a safety concern. We strive for a positive, safe learning environment here at MPS. In order to attain that we must work together. Thank You!
