SAGE Testing Results
Ogden Preparatory Academy
Letter from the Principal
To the OPA Community,
As you have seen in the media, the Utah Education PACE Report Cards have been released. Ogden Preparatory Academy received a B, and we appreciate the hard work and dedication of teachers and staff in maintaining this grade. SAGE Results and PACE Report Cards are available online at: https://datagateway.schools.utah.gov/assessment
We welcome the new approach to learning and assessment that is being piloted by the State of Utah. However, a learning and assessment style that moves from memorization to rigorous thinking, problem solving and adaptive testing takes time. The data provided from testing over the next three years, will set a new benchmark for Utah education. The SAGE scores are very different than the CRTs and are not comparable to the previous assessments. It will take time for students and teachers to make the transition and approach all learning and assessment with inquiry and problem solving. We are up to the challenge and believe our initial results show that we are on the right track in providing a better education to prepare our students for the future.
To support your student and our teachers, we ask that you partner with us in being the “teacher” at home. The SAGE portal, Utah Compose, Raz Kids, and MobyMax are some online resources we suggest to build student’s skills and knowledge base.
As we enter the holiday season, we wish you a peaceful and happy winter break. We will see you in the New Year! Remember, that at OPA Everybody Loves, Everybody Learns and Everybody Leads.
Respectfully,
Amie Campbell
