Getting to Know Eachother
As a whole group they planned out the basic idea of the story
All characters of the play were created by the actor. Costume ideas were dreamed out and designed by the actor as well. We had 15 actors out of the 21 cast and crew, on our stage.

You have to have a good crew!
Crew is essential!
This is Jack from the Back, also an essential crew member
Maya and Sarah had their hands in everything they were cast & crew. They were very instrumental in assisting back stage with our curtain crew, keeping them backstage, helping them with cues, and communicating with advisors when necessary.

A bit of history.......
We ask our club members to commit two days a week 1 hour and 15 minutes each (our leaders stay to 4:30pm on Wednesdays) for about 17 weeks and then the last week (we call "tech week") they commit three days a week 2 hours and 15 minutes and then all day the day and evening of the play. We are pretty strict about attendance because it is hard work, and if you are not there you do miss out, because we have to just keep rolling. But the kids are committed and the parents understand. Everyone communicates and it works. It is rough, some of our members have to make choices, sometimes you have to give up something else to do theater but life starts being like that as you get older. Sometimes students choose not to do theater, and that happens too. You have to make the two days a week. It is essential to writing a show, producing a show and performing a show. It is not the kind of program where you just get handed a script, you memorize it and you perform it. This is a show the students create from blank paper and it is hard work, and they demand that from each other. It can get intense, but it also can be very fun. It is an interesting combination of experiences!

If you think your child is interested, keep an ear and eye out for the announcement our next academic year 2019-2020. We send an email out and make morning announcements in school. It is a first sign up, first gets the spot situation. Your child has to be able to make the 2 day a week commitment, that is a non-negotiable for the program.
We have 20 spots available.
