Documents go down in flames!
What caused this act of anarchy?
The tensions grow
Mexico, upset my actions of former president Mirabeau B. Lamar, launched multiple raids into the Republic of Texas. These raids started to cause panic among the Texans, and fearing an attack on Austin, President Houston sent out and order to move all official government documents, archives, and records to Houston. Many Texans refused and rebuttaled the decision, as they feared it would move the Capitol back to Houston.
