Dear Golden Oak Montessori Community:
As concerns about coronavirus have grown, area school districts in consultation with the Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD) and the Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE) have announced closures. Golden Oak Montessori will follow the same path. Starting Monday, March 16, Golden Oak Montessori will be closed to students through Friday, April 3.
Because of the evolving nature of the coronavirus pandemic, we hope to be able to resume instruction on Monday, April 6. This date will continually be assessed and if it changes, families will be notified. Our school’s academic calendar and Spring Break may be adjusted due to the closure. If this occurs, the school community will be informed.
Teachers are preparing resources for students to continue their learning at home; however, this effort is not designed to replace the value of instruction at school with teachers. These resources will be sent to families next week.
We are developing options for families who participate in our Free/Reduced Meal program to pick up meals during the closure. This information will be provided as soon as available.
We know this period will be difficult for many of our families, and we thank all of you for your patience and perseverance. We will be in frequent contact through email, our website (www.goldenoakmontessori.org/updates) and our school’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/GOMontessoriofHayward) regarding changing circumstances and resources for learning and supportive services. In the meantime, please take care of yourself, your family and our community.
In Partnership,
Jennifer Heeter
Head of School
