Week at a Glance
Math- We started Unit 2- multiplication and students are doing an awesome job of showing their thinking for counting groups of objects.
Social Studies- Students have been working on creating their own treasure maps. They have some very creative ideas and have been incorporating all the things we've been learning about map features!
Writing- We are finished up our opinion writing unit this week and next. I had students type their opinion pieces to get practice with keyboarding stamina.
Science- We will be starting our e4tech lessons soon. Module 1 has a heavy focus on mathematics and computer science. We plan to also begin our Matter Unit and sprinkle it throughout the next few weeks.
Click here to see the homework menu for the week. You only have to chose one activity from each column. Remember, it's not due until next Friday and the Design Challenge is optional.

Head Room Parent Introduction
Hello parents,
My name is Carol Bahr and I am Ms. Pratt's Head Room Parent this year. I am Connor's mom and this is my 4th time being a head room parent, so I have learned what works well at the parties and what doesn't. The children love the class parties and look forward to them every year. With your help, donations and time we will make these parties a huge success. Please feel free to email me at carolbahr@hotmail.com or call my cell phone at 614-327-1957 at any time if you ever have questions or concerns.
The first classroom party is coming upon us fast! The Fall party in Ms. Pratt's class will take place of Friday, October 27th. The party will be from 2:30-3:30. The first 15-20 minutes will be the costume parade that will take place in front of the Primary School. There will be an area blocked off for parent viewing while the kids walk on the sidewalk in front of the school. The remainder of the party time will be spent in the classroom for the party where we will be doing crafts/games/snack etc.
This year all parents that want to help out with the party are welcome to attend (there is no maximum for volunteers). However, all volunteers must sign up on Signup Genius. This will put your name on a list that is submitted to the school so that you can be signed in quickly the day of the party. I will send the link next week.
If you plan to just attend the parade outside and not the party you don't need to sign up through the Signup Genius link. Please note that NO siblings or other children are permitted to attend school parties per school policy.
All parents volunteering will be assigned tasks for helping out in the classroom during the party time to help things go smoothly. A sign-up for the items needed will come out by the end of next week.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this perfect weather we are having. I will be in touch next week.
Thanks,
Carol Bahr
