Significance
Pickett's Charge resulted in over 6,000-9,000 confederate casualties and marked the end of the battle of Gettysburg as well as Lee's last invasion of the North.
The battle was fought at Gettysburg because of the road system.
Of 120 generals present at Gettysburg, nine were killed or wounded during the battle.
The first days battle was a much larger engagement than is generally portrayed. The second day of the battle was the largest and costliest of the three days.
Pickett's charge was the final day of the battle.
More than 30,000 dead or wounded were left in the battles wake.
Pickett's Charge proved to be most significant for the North and most disastrous for the south.
General Lee lost 23 battle flags in Pickett's Charge.
